A Review of Skin Q Sun Protect Gel: Does It Live Up to the Hype?

Ever wonder if those expensive sunscreen products with lots of hype actually work as well as advertised? You’re not alone. With so many options on the market promising maximum protection with natural, organic ingredients.

Most importantly, does it actually protect your skin from sun damage? We’ve got the inside scoop on everything you need to know about Skin Q Sun Protect Gel. Let’s just say the results of our experiments may surprise you.

How to Use

  1. Apply 15 minutes before sun exposure to allow it to dry completely.
  2. Use about a nickel-sized amount for your face. Rub it in thoroughly, especially around your eyes, nose and lips.
  3. Reapply every 2 hours or after swimming or sweating heavily.

While Skin Q Sun Protect Gel lives up to its SPF 50 claim based on independent testing, no sunscreen can block 100% of the sun’s UV radiation. So you still need to limit sun exposure during the middle of the day when the sun is strongest, wear UV-protective clothing and reapply regularly.

Pros

One of the biggest pros of Skin Q Sun Protect Gel is how lightweight and non-greasy it feels. Unlike many sunscreens that leave you feeling like you just bathed in oil, this gel absorbs quickly into your skin without any tacky residue. It’s also hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, so it won’t irritate sensitive skin or clash with your perfume or cologne.

Cons

For the price, the amount of product seems on the small side. The 1.7 oz tube may not last long if you’re applying it every day or for the whole family. Some users also report that it can feel a bit greasy for the first few minutes after applying before it fully absorbs, especially in hot or humid weather.

The gel texture spreads on smoothly, it may run into your eyes if you apply it too close to the eye area. As with any sunscreen, be careful to avoid direct contact with your eyes.

My Experience

I tried Skin Q Sun Protect Gel, and I must say, it’s pretty good. This sunscreen comes in a gel form, making it easy to put on. I liked that it didn’t make my skin feel all greasy or sticky. I have sensitive skin, but it didn’t cause any problems, which was a relief.

The best part, It actually works. I didn’t get a sunburn while using it, even on super sunny days. Plus, it doesn’t leave that annoying white stuff on your skin like some other sunscreens do. It’s transparent and doesn’t mess with your skin’s appearance.
